At the 2024 Umsonst & Draußen Festival in Bisingen, I had the chance to photograph Lacrimas Profundere — and what a show it was.
The German dark rock band, founded in the early ’90s by guitarist Oliver Nikolas Schmid, has gone through many changes over the years. Today, with Julian Larre as the frontman, they’ve added fresh intensity to their signature mix of gothic rock, metal, and melodic hooks. That intensity was on full display in Bisingen.
From the first song, the energy between the band and the crowd was electric. People weren’t just watching; they were feeling it — moving, shouting, fully immersed. Julian didn’t stay on stage for long either. With a fearless stage dive, he threw himself into the crowd, adding to the chaos in the best possible way.
It’s moments like this that make live music so powerful — and as a photographer, it’s exactly the kind of action I love to capture.
A raw, energetic performance, dark atmosphere, great light — everything just clicked.
