Sometimes, the best moments in photography come from following a feeling.
While the 48er Festival was already in full swing just a short walk from my home, I found myself browsing Spotify, curious to get a taste of the acts performing that weekend. That’s when I stumbled upon a band called Violet.
The moment their song “Arms Around” started playing, it took less than ten seconds for me to be completely hooked. The sound hit something in me—beautiful, full of warmth, and just the right touch of energy. It was the kind of music that makes you want to experience it live.
Luckily, the 48er grounds were just around the corner. With that spark of inspiration, I grabbed my camera and headed out, hoping to catch Violet’s set. What I found exceeded every expectation.
Not only was the music as good live as it was in my headphones—it was better. The band had a captivating presence on stage, engaging the audience with passion, charisma, and real joy. The crowd responded with the same energy. As a photographer, it was the perfect mix: great music, genuine emotion, dynamic light, and movement. Everything came together.
